Yinarr Maramali Light Pendants

Banner of news post

One of the most breathtaking features in our Blak Cede Gunyah café is the seven hanging light pendants. The pendants were woven by five Gomeroi Yinarr (women), Amy Hammond, Lorrelle Munro, Sophie Honess, Emily Honess and Rachael Phillips, as part of Yinarr Maramali, an amazing business out of Tamworth, NSW.

The meaning of Yinarr Maramali is ‘made by Gomeroi women hands’ and was formally established by Gomeroi Yinarr Amy Hammond and Lorrelle Munro in 2014.

Yinarr Maramali is a Gomeroi Yinarr-owned and self-determining business that continues to be inspired by the profound intergenerational impacts of their cultural weaving practices and their revitalisation within their communities and on their Country. Yinarr Maramali are weavers, artists, caretakers and storytellers through the weavings and artworks they create. Using only ever materials collected and prepared by hand from Country or sustainable sources.
